As a past business owner, Brent comes with a key understanding of the business sales process with knowledge acquired firsthand as a principal in several successful business and real estate transactions. He knows what it takes to properly present a business for sale. He understands the motivations of buyers and sellers and how to cut through the clutter and focus on what really matters; a successful transaction that feels right for both parties.
Brent was named True North’s Advisor of the Year in 2024. He has worked on some of the firm’s larger engagements, including transactions over $100 million. Buyers at this level are well seasoned and highly selective. Brent excels in this environment and boasts a strong track record.
Now in his ninth year at True North, Brent is dedicated to lifelong learning. He holds several certifications, including CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) and M&AMI (M&A Master Intermediary), achieved through the IBBA and M&A Source. He holds a CM&AP (Certified M&A Professional) from Coles College M&A Academy at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. In addition, he holds the CEPA (Certified Exit Planning Advisor) designation through the Exit Planning Institute. From a field of over 500, Brent was named 2021 CBI of the Year in May 2022 at the annual IBBA Conference in Denver and has received several IBBA/M&A Source Platinum Chairman’s Circle Awards over the years.
Brent has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Minnesota State University in Mankato with concentrations in Marketing and Finance and a minor in Economics.
